These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) regulate and govern the contractual relationship between Playabets MP (Pty) Ltd (“Playa Bets”, “we”, “us”, “our”) and any individual who registers an account or otherwise participates in our licensed gambling services (“you”, “your”, “User”).
Playa Bets is licensed in terms of the Mpumalanga Gambling Act, 1995 (as amended) under licence number 9-2-1-09689, and is regulated by the Mpumalanga Economic Regulator (“MER”). Playa Bets is further subject to the National Gambling Act, 2004 (Act No. 7 of 2004, as amended), the supervisory authority of the National Gambling Board (“NGB”), and any other applicable provincial gambling legislation within the Republic of South Africa.
By registering an account, depositing funds, placing wagers, or otherwise making use of our services, you confirm that you:
1. Have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms;
2. Are at least 18 years of age and lawfully entitled to gamble in terms of section 10 of the National Gambling Act, 2004;
3. Are participating solely from within the Republic of South Africa in compliance with applicable legislation and regulations;
4. Agree to our Privacy Policy, Responsible Gambling Policy, Betting Rules, Cash-Out Terms, General Promotional Terms, and any applicable promotion-specific terms, which collectively form part of these Terms; and
5. Understand that Playa Bets is obliged to comply with the Financial Intelligence Centre Act, 2001 (FICA), including Know Your Customer (KYC), anti-money laundering, and suspicious transaction reporting obligations.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must immediately refrain from using our services.
Playa Bets: means Playabets MP (Pty) Ltd, the licensed gambling operator of www.playabets.co.za, including all related products offered online and via mobile platforms (Sports, Live Betting, Virtuals, Vegas Games and associated services).
Closed Account User: means a User whose account has been suspended, excluded, deregistered, or closed by either the User or Play Bets.
User(s): means Registered User or Closed Account User.
User Funds: means the aggregate value of funds lawfully held by Playabets on behalf of Users, including cleared deposits for future gambling, unclaimed winnings, or prizes, and accrued but unpaid loyalty or bonus amounts.
Domestic Politically Exposed Person (DPEP): means a natural person holding, or having held for over six months, a prominent public function in the Republic of South Africa per Schedule 3A of the FIC Act, including immediate family or close associates.
FICA: means the Financial Intelligence Centre Act 2001, its2001, its amendments, and any regulations or guidance notes issued thereunder.
Foreign Politically Exposed Person (FPEP): means any natural person holding or having held a prominent public function in a foreign country (e.g., Head of State, minister, senior judicial official), including immediate family or close associates.
Intellectual Property: means all intellectual property rights, including trademarks, trade names, domain names, website designs, software code, and other proprietary rights owned or licensed by Playa Bets.
KYC: means Know Your Customer procedures undertaken in terms of FICA for the purpose of verifying a User's identity and source of funds.
Offering: means all products and services provided by Playa Bets.
Operator: means Playa Bets MP (Pty) Ltd, the licensed entity responsible for operating www.playabets.co.za.
Participate: means to access, wager, play, or otherwise make use of any service offered by Playa Bets.
Prominent Influential Person (PIP): means any natural person holding or having held in the last 12 months, key corporate positions (e.g., board chairperson, CFO) in a company supplying goods/services to a state organ, including immediate family or close associates.
Registered User: means an individual who has successfully completed registration and maintains an active account with Playa Bets.
Service: means the availability and provision of www.playabets.co.za for user participation.
We/Us/Our: means the Operator and, where applicable, its holding or associated companies.
You/Your/User: means any individual who accesses or participates in Playa Bets' Offerings.
The User Gaming Contract is concluded between the User and the Operator upon successful registration of an account. All transactions are deemed to occur within the Republic of South Africa, where Playa Bets principal servers are located.
User Funds are held in segregated accounts separate from Playa Bets operational business accounts, in accordance with licence conditions and regulatory requirements, to ensure a reasonable degree of protection. However, in the event of insolvency, Users acknowledge that there is no absolute guarantee of full repayment.
3.1 Restrictions
Only individuals who are 18 years or older may lawfully participate. Participation by persons under the age of 18 is strictly prohibited and constitutes a criminal offence under section 10 of the National Gambling Act, 2004.
Participation from outside of the Republic of South Africa may result in immediate account suspension or closure of the User's account. Net winnings will be deducted, and the remaining balance refunded. Playa Bets is not liable for losses sustained as a result of such unlawful participation.
Any attempt to circumvent geographic restrictions, including the use of VPNs, proxies, or false information, constitutes a material breach of these Terms and may amount to fraud. Such conduct shall entitle Playa Bets to terminate the account and may be reported to law-enforcement authorities.
3.2 Acceptance and Risk
By accepting these Terms, you acknowledge and accept that:
● Gambling is inherently associated with financial risk and may result in losses;
● You shall have no claim against Playa Bets, its directors, officers, employees, or affiliates for losses incurred; and
● Participation is solely for personal, recreational purposes and at your own risk.
3.3 Ineligible Users
Employees of Playa Bets, former employees (within 3 years), affiliates, self-excluded persons, distributors, wholesalers, subsidiaries, advertisers, media partners, retailers, or their immediate families are ineligible to participate. Accounts registered in contravention of this clause will be terminated, winnings forfeited, and the matter may be reported to the MER or other relevant Gambling Board.
3.4 KYC Verification and Identification
Playa Bets shall conduct verification procedures, and Users may be required to submit acceptable documents such as:
A valid government-issued identity document, passport, driver's licence, or asylum-seeker permit;
A recent utility bill or bank statement (not older than three months) in the player's name and displaying their residential address.
Accounts may be suspended or restricted until verification is completed. Deposits from underage persons shall be refunded and any winnings voided.
Playa Bets reserves the right to request proof of source of funds in terms of FICA. Failure to provide satisfactory information may result in account termination and reporting to the Financial Intelligence Centre or MER.
3.5 Minimum and Maximum Bets
Bet limits vary by sport, league, and bet type, displayed in the stake field when placing a bet. Minimum and maximum bet limits are displayed when a wager is placed. Playa Bets reserves the right to decline or limit any bet, regardless of whether it falls within published limits.
3.6 Compliance with Laws
Users must comply with all applicable laws, including the National Gambling Act, 2004, provincial gambling legislation, and FICA. Playa Bets accepts no liability for unlawful use of its services.
3.7 DPEP, FPEP, or PIP
Users must disclose, at registration and during participation, whether they qualify as a DPEP, FPEP, or PIP. Playa Bets shall apply enhanced due-diligence measures in compliance with FICA.
4.1 Single Account
Only one account per user is allowed. Duplicate accounts will be suspended and consolidated. Playa Bets reserves the right to refuse or close accounts in its discretion, subject to fulfilling lawful obligations.
4.2 Accuracy
Users must ensure that all registration details remain accurate and up to date. Keep registration details (address, email, phone, etc.) updated via support@playabets.co.za. The registered account name must match your government-issued ID.
4.3 Security of Credentials
Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of login credentials. Playa Bets accepts no liability for unauthorised account use.
4.4 Verification of Bank Details
We may ask for proof of banking, and when a user changes their banking inform upon a first-time withdrawal.
4.5 No Liability
Playa Bets is not liable for damages or losses from participation, including delays, data loss, communication failures, misuse, or errors/omissions in website content.
4.6 Dormant/Inactive Accounts
Accounts shall be deemed dormant after six months of inactivity. Playa Bets will attempt to notify the User. If no response is received within seven days, the account will be formally classified as dormant.
4.7 Account Transfers
Transferring funds or accounts between Users is prohibited.
4.8 Interest
Funds in your account do not accrue interest.
4.9 Account Suspension
Playa Bets may suspend, close, or terminate your account if you are suspected of unlawful winnings or violating these Terms. You will be notified via email, and if winnings are retained, a documented decision may be sent to the Gaming Authority. Suspended accounts cannot be unlocked during the period.
4.10 Account Closure and Temporary Suspension
To close your account, contact support@playabets.co.za. Refer to our Responsible Gambling Policy for Time-Out and Exclusion procedures.
4.11 Change
Playa Bets reserves the right to modify, suspend, or remove website content or services and products at our discretion without notice. We are not liable for losses due to such changes.
5.1 Identification Checks
Withdrawals shall not be processed until the User's identity has been verified in accordance with FICA, via internal or third-party means.
5.2 Credit Checks
We may verify cardholder details with third-party credit agencies based on registration information.
5.3 Records
Users are responsible for maintaining copies of all transaction records and applicable Terms and Conditions.
5.4 Withdrawals
Minimum withdrawal: R100.
Processing times for withdrawals are typically 30 minutes subject to banking delays before it reaches the users bank account just to safeguard us of any downtime caused externally.
Maximum winnings are capped at R500,000 per day, with total withdrawals limited to R10,000,000 in any 30-day period.
Withdrawals requested without having wagered the full deposited amount may be declined. If a customer deposits using a voucher, the wager requirements is three times before requesting a withdrawal.
Playa Bets may postpone withdrawals and suspend the account pending thorough investigation is complete.
Withdrawals are processed from your Main Cash Account, and the registered name must match the payment method. We may require specific payment methods or additional security for first-time, large, or changed payment method withdrawals.
5.5 Deposits
Minimum deposit: R50
Playa Bets may require documentary proof of the source of funds. Failure to provide satisfactory proof shall entitle Playa Bets to suspend or terminate the account and report the matter to authorities.
5.6 Updating Payment Details
Payment details can be updated on the withdrawal page alternatively, contact support@playabets.co.za to update payment details for withdrawals.
5.7 Errors and Refunds
If funds are credited in error, notify us immediately. Winnings from errors are invalid and will be returned. We may withhold/recover erroneous deposits, payouts, bonuses, or winnings.
5.8 Refunds
Funds credited in error must be reported immediately and shall be recoverable by Playa Bets. Winnings derived from such errors are void. Refunds are granted only in exceptional circumstances, at Playa Bets sole discretion.
6.1 Wager Confirmation
A bet is deemed accepted once it has been registered on Playa Bets servers and confirmed on the User's account.
6.2 Bet Validity
Bets placed after the commencement of an event, or after the outcome is known, shall be void unless explicitly permitted under “Live In-Play Betting”.
6.3 Cancellation of Bets
Playa Bets reserves the right, in its absolute discretion, to refuse, limit, or cancel any bet. Any cancelled or voided bet shall be refunded to the User's account.
6.4 Errors
In the event of an obvious error (including incorrect odds, event information, or settlement), Playa Bets may declare the bet void. The User's stake shall be refunded, and no winnings shall be payable.
7.1 Rules of Play
Sports bets are subject to Playa Bets published Sports Betting Rules, which form part of these Terms.
7.2 Maximum Payouts
The maximum daily payout to any User shall not exceed R500,000, unless otherwise approved by the Mpumalanga Economic Regulator (MER).
Playa Bets reserves the right to adjust limits in accordance with licence conditions or regulatory directives.
7.3 Suspicious Betting
If Playa Bets reasonably suspects match-fixing, insider information, or suspicious betting patterns, it may:
1. Suspend settlement of affected bets;
2. Void such bets; and
3. Report the matter to the MER, the NGB, or law-enforcement authorities.
Bonuses are issued strictly for use as free bets and cannot be redeemed for cash. Bonus funds are non-withdrawable until the applicable rollover or wagering requirements have been met. All bonuses are subject to an expiry period, which will be specified for each promotion (e.g. 48 hours from the time of issue). Only winnings derived from bonus funds will be credited to the player's cash wallet, and such winnings are further subject to the maximum redeemable amount applicable to the specific bonus promotion.
8.1 Separate Terms
Promotions and competitions have separate terms, found in General Promotional Rules and Sports Bonus Terms. These prevail over conflicting Terms and Conditions. Bonuses must be used per their terms.
8.2 Right to Rescind
We may withdraw promotions, competitions, or bonuses at any time.
8.3 Claim Period
Winners have 90 days from result closure to claim winnings, or they are forfeited.
8.4 Bonus Limits
Bonuses are limited to one per user, household, email, phone number, IP address, computer, or mobile device. Abuse or irregular activities, constitute a breach of these Terms and will result in bonus revocation.
8.5 Exclusion from Liability
From time to time, Playa Bets may issue free promotional bets, bonuses, or credits (collectively, “Free Play Bonuses”) as part of promotional activity.
If any Free Play Bonus is issued, credited, or communicated to a User in error, whether due to system malfunction, human error, or other cause, Playa Bets reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to:
(i) void or cancel such Free Play Bonus;
(ii) declare any wagers placed using the Free Play Bonus void; and
(iii) reverse, withhold, or recover any winnings, bonuses, or credits derived from such Free Play Bonus.
Playa Bets will act promptly and reasonably to rectify such errors and will not exercise its rights in a manner that is unfair, misleading, or unconscionable.
Subject to applicable law, Playa Bets shall not be liable for any reliance placed upon, or losses alleged to have arisen from, a Free Play Bet issued in error.
Playa Bets is committed to protecting your privacy and complying with data protection laws. Review our Privacy Policy, which is a prerequisite for account registration. By migrating an account from another brand, you consent to transferring your personal information (name, date of birth, deposit methods, contact details, transaction history). You agree to receive marketing communications, which you may unsubscribe from via support@playabets.co.za.

10.1 Policy
Playa Bets supports responsible gambling in line with the National Responsible Gambling Programme (NRGP) to ensure a fun experience. A self-imposed Deposit Limit feature is available for daily, weekly, or monthly caps on deposits via methods like Ozow Capitec, EFT, Debit/Credit Card, Masterpass, walletdoc, Apple Pay, and Zapper. This does not apply to 1Voucher, OTT Voucher, BluVoucher, KazangVoucher, direct EFT, ATM, or Crypto deposits.

Time Out (Temporary Suspension)

Self-Exclusion (Permanent closure)
Customers may apply for self-exclusion, resulting in the closure of their account for a period of six months, 12 months or permanently via the gambling board. This exclusion is irrevocable and cannot be reversed during the exclusion period.

All intellectual property rights in Playa Bets websites, mobile platforms, software, designs, and trademarks are owned or lawfully licensed to Playa Bets. Users are granted a limited, non-transferable licence to use the services for personal and lawful purposes only. Any unauthorised use may result in legal action.
12.1 No Warranties
The Service, including all offerings and the Website, is provided strictly “as is” and “as available.” Playa Bets makes no express or implied representations, warranties, or guarantees of any kind, including but not limited to warranties of quality, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, reliability, or uninterrupted availability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, all such warranties are expressly excluded.
12.2 Service Suspension and System Malfunctions
Playa Bets shall not be liable for any direct or indirect loss or damage arising from computer, system, server, or connection failures, nor from the use of unauthorised, manipulated, or fraudulent methods of participation.
Playa Bets may, at its sole discretion, suspend, withdraw, or restrict access to the Service. Where practicable, reasonable notice of suspension shall be provided, and the Service shall be restored as soon as reasonably possible.
Confirmed bets placed in accordance with these Terms, and not affected by fraud or manipulation, shall remain valid notwithstanding suspension.
Bets or payouts affected by a suspension, malfunction, or interruption may be declared void by Playa Bets without liability.
Any winnings, bonuses, or credits generated directly or indirectly as a result of malfunction or suspension may be cancelled or recovered by Playa Bets.
12.3 Errors and Viruses and Corrupt Data
Bets, payouts, winnings, or bonuses resulting from obvious error, software malfunction, virus, corrupted data, or misconfiguration of the Service shall be void.
Playa Bets shall not be liable for any damages, losses, or claims arising therefrom and reserves the right to recover any such amounts erroneously credited to a User's account.
Users are solely responsible for ensuring their own systems are adequately protected against viruses, malware, or data corruption, and for restoring or reinstalling any lost or damaged data.
12.4 Live Broadcasts and Information Feeds
Live broadcasts, event streams, and information feeds provided through the Service may be subject to delay, suspension, or technical error.
Playa Bets does not guarantee the accuracy, timeliness, or completeness of such information, including but not limited to event scores, times, statistics, or outcomes.
Playa Bets accepts no liability for any loss or reliance placed upon such broadcasts or feeds.
12.5 Voided Bets
Bets not properly confirmed on Playa Bets' servers at the time of placement shall be declared void in the event of any malfunction or technical failure.
Playa Bets shall not be liable for any loss or damages resulting from such voided bets.
Where a voided bet has resulted in winnings or credits already applied to a User's account, Playa Bets reserves the right to reverse such credits. If such reversal creates a negative balance, the User shall remain liable to Playa Bets for the shortfall.

13.5 Collusion
Report suspected collusion or cheating to support@playabets.co.za.
14.1 Indemnity
You agree to indemnify Playa Bets, its directors, officers, employees, shareholders, agents, and affiliates against costs, expenses, liabilities, or damages from your participation, including website use, deposits, wagering, or acceptance of winnings.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Playa Bets shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits or data.
Playa Bets shall not be liable for technical failures, disruptions, or unauthorised use of a User's account.
14.2 Liability Limitation
Playa Bets' maximum aggregate liability to any User shall not exceed the amount wagered or deposited in the User’s account during the three (3) months immediately preceding the claim. This applies to contract, tort, negligence, or other claims.
14.3 Links
We are not liable for losses from linked websites or their content.
14.4 Negligence
These Terms do not exclude liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by our negligence.
15.1 No Legal / Tax Advice
We do not provide tax or legal advice. Consult appropriate advisors.
15.2 No Arbitrage
Using Playa Bets for currency exchange arbitrage is prohibited. Gains from such activities will be forfeited.
15.3 Anti-Money Laundering
Using the Website Fraudulent activity, money laundering, or terrorist financing, use of stolen credit/debit cards or false information, collusion with other Users, use of automated systems (“bots”), is prohibited. Suspected fraudulent or unlawful activity will lead to immediate termination, account blocking, winnings shall be forfeited, and the matter may be reported to the MER, the NGB, the Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC), and law-enforcement authorities. You must cooperate with our investigations.
16.1 Termination
Playa Bets reserves the right to close your account at any time without notice. Your Main Cash Account balance will be credited to your payment method, except:
1. If engaged in illegal activity, we are not obligated to refund funds.
2. If involved in Prohibited Activities, we may withhold deposits, winnings, or bonuses.
16.2 Reporting
In cases of illegal or Prohibited Activities, your details may be shared with regulatory or third-party authorities.
16.3 Prohibited Activities
The reasons for closure /suspension of your account are set out below:
● Opening multiple accounts
● Name mismatches
● Bankruptcy
● Providing false/misleading information
● Using VPNs/proxies to mask location
● Participating from outside South Africa
● Allowing others to use your account
● Coordinated betting with others.
● Chargebacks
● Collusion, cheating, or money laundering
● Using systems (e.g., bots) to defeat the gaming system
● Material breaches of these Terms
16.4 Other Rights
These rights do not limit other rights we may have.
16.5 Voided Bets
Unsettled bets may be voided if your account is closed per 16.3.
16.6 Other Closures
Unsettled bets at closure for other reasons will be settled per bet terms.
17.1 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by South African law, with disputes subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of South African courts. The English version prevails.
17.2 Entire Agreement
These Terms are the complete agreement between you and Playa Bets, superseding prior agreements.
17.3 Amendments
Playa Bets reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time, subject to approval or notification to the MER where required. Users shall be notified of material changes, and continued use of the services shall constitute acceptance of the amended Terms.
17.4 Final Decision
The Playa Bets server software result is official in case of discrepancies with website displays.
17.5 Tax
You are responsible for taxes on prizes/winnings.
17.6 Force Majeure
We are not liable for performance failures due to events beyond our control.
17.7 No Agency
No agency, partnership, or joint enterprise is created..
17.8 Severability
Invalid provisions are severed, with remaining terms valid. Invalid parts will be amended to reflect our intent.
17.9 Explanation
Contact support@playabets.co.za for clarification. English versions prevail, and Terms supersede email, chat, or phone communications. Correspondence and calls may be recorded.
17.10 Assignment
You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our consent. We may assign our rights without notice.
17.11 Business Transfers
In case of a change of control, merger, or acquisition, your account and data may be transferred. We will notify you via email or website notice.
